hi id try getting something like a small socket set extention bar( 3/8th say )and hold it in the botton of the core plug and give it a hit with a hammer,it should spin round and then pull it out with a pair of grips ,clean everything up and then using a large socket the same size as the core plug ,tap it in place ,that should do it.
