I don't see the problem with replica GT40's if that's what floats people's boats.

There are three categories for replicas as far as I'm concerned. Two are acceptable one isn't.

Category 1 (acceptable)







Decent replicas of very rare and uber-expensive cars that people may want, but even if they could afford one, they'd probably buy something else, go generally only ther uber-rich and very fortunate have them.

Category 2 (unacceptable)





Very poor replicas of cars that fool nobody with half a clue and that if you stopped wasting your money on soft drugs and building shite like that you'd probably be able to afford anyway.

Category 3 (acceptable)





Simply adding a few styling parts from a top end model to your lower model to make it look like the cars above. Mr. 17 year old should feel comfortable freshening up the appearance of his 1.6 LX to look like a GTi/RS2000. Just don't badge it up as one.

All of the above is purely in my opinion of course!
