Had to do this couple weeks ago on mates mk3.

It wasnt easy, at all, the bar that went through the pedals had swollen on the end with flat machined onto it. Luckily his knocked out with hammer easy enough but was swapping for mine so he could get home again next mornin and mine needed air belt sander on end to make it slip through the hole.

After that its 15 mins to get it back together. Just remember which bushes go where and use correct grease.
