If it were me I'd stump up the cash at Fords. I suspected that mine was faulty a few years back but it turned out to be something else. There is a TSB from Fords about rerouting MAP sensor wiring to eliminate interference from the rest of the loom and causing sensor misreads and eratic boost levels.
