ok i bought an Rreg gti, but it wont start, i`m getting ign lights but when i turn for the starter nothing, also no fuel pump noise and the immobiliser light flashes like mad when in the starter position,i havent counted flashes yet, i was thinking that it was the key(i only have the1 and its a nonford chipped key) but have read it may not be the cause, i have already checked the alarm activators on the door locks and they work spot on and are getting power to them but have read elsewhere that it could be dry joints on the fusebox but is there a common point which dries out, the other thing i read about was a wire which travels down the drivers side wheelarch behind the liner(strange but ive never took much notice of anything behind the liners so could be right) ive had a few mk6 escorts but never had any non start probs in the past apart from duff battery, am gonna check the earths too but would rather have a direct fix than checking everything,cheers for any help,roy.
