No bother matey, the "restrictor" that you mention is actually a one way valve it allows the inlet to suck crank pressure, but when on boost the valve shuts to stop the turbo pressure going down the pipe and blowing your sump off!!
The valve should still have a good useable size, make sure it's not caked up with old crud/oil on inlet side.
