Default British Drift Championship Cossie

OK Folks,

To start... pictures will follow shortly but here it is....

I bought a 2.0l Pinto Sierra Hatch to use as a drift car. Cheap and reliable and next to nothing to fuel up for a days sliding. In February 2009 I blew the car up and pushed a conrod or two through the block..... The car had got 156K on the clock!

Anyway, I went to ABC Motorsport who were under new management and secured a sponsorship deal and thats where we really begin. Full cosworth conversion has been carried out including:

Now added to the list that they supplied

Cosworth head with 205 block.
T3 turbo, 4x4 manifold for better throttle response
4x4 intercooler
Collins -31 Actuator
Full stainless Race built exhaust (side exit)
Group A ignition modual/coil
Group A head Gasket
Group A / Kavelar timing belt
Green 803 injectors and chip
3 Bar Map Sensor
Baily Oil Catch tank

T5 gearbox now with burton supplied clutch

Exterior is Matt black and Electric Monza blue
Signwritten
17" alloys (brands depending on which ones have legal tyres)
Granada Cosworth V6 callipers

Quick release and lock handbrake

"and a lot of welded patches and new sills!!!"

On the rollers on its first run it produced 282bhp to the wheels on about 8psi boost

Following this on its first outing the conrod bolts came loose, chewing up the crank, breaking a conrod and damaging the block and sump, valves, oil feed pipe and head.

"EDITED - REMOVED for the former ABC Motorsports"

Anyway,

Now I have bought some new parts.... crank, sump, block, Pistons and Rods, ARP bolts, and having the above head gasket and cam belts fitted. Oh, dont forget new barings.

Also has a new head supplied and fitted!!!!

It will be going into have a roll cage fitted soon and then thats it done.....

I will post updates etc when I can.... pictures to follow.... And any help or advice, welcome.

I am now having an independant mechanic / cossie specialist rebuild the engine so lets hope I have better luck this year!!!

Now in talks with a cosworth racing team located in West Sussex...
