Well been doing more cooking and thought id put warren's vegetarian lasagne reciepe up!!!

To make it a normal meat one, just ditch the lentils and beans and add browned mince meat and crumble in an oxo cube!!

You need:

Main sauce

olive oil
seasoning
2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
2 onions finely chopped
mixed herbs
paprika
2 bay leaves
cayman pepper
200g lentils
tin of aduki beans
1 tin tomatoes
tomatoe puree
lasagne sheets
100g grated mature cheddar.

Cheese sauce
1 tablespoon butter/marg
1 table spoon plain flour
pinch of salt
1/2 pint milk

First of all prepare the lentils according to the pack instructions and drain (or brown of the meat in a pan for meat eaters). once done put aside.

preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

put some olive oil in pan and heat up the garlic.
fry the onions on medium heat till translucent
add seasoning, paprika, cayman pepper, bay leaves and herbs. (to taste but teaspoon of each if unsure).
Drain the aduki beans and add beans to pan.
add half a tube of tomatoe puree
add tin of tomatoes.
stir well
Stir in lentils
Cover and simmer for 20 mins while making cheese sauce

Cheese Sauce

gently melt the butter or margarine in a saucepan over a low heat. Dont burn butter!!
Next, add the flour and mix to form a smooth paste.
Very gradually add the milk a little at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition to keep the sauce smooth.
After initially becoming thick, the paste will become thin and smooth as you add more milk.
Add your salt then slightly raise the heat (do not boil) and sprinkle in your grated cheese, stirring constantly.
Once the cheese has melted (raise the heat a little more if necessary), bring the sauce to the boil, stirring constantly.
Allow the sauce a minute or so to thicken, then reduce the heat, and stir occasionally.

To make lasagne

remove bayleafs from red sauce!
Spoon some red sauce into lasagene dish enough to cover bottom
cover in lasagne sheets. Break off corners on rounded dishes to fit better
put some cheese sauce ontop. just a thin layer spread round with spoon

repeat layers of red sauce, lasagne sheets and white sauce until dish is full ending in layer of lasagne sheets and last of white sauce on top.

Sprinkle the 100g of cheese on top of sauce

Put in oven for 35-45 minutes until piping hot and cheese top totally browned.
