Default Painting advice for escort cabrio

Hi;

I found this site yesterday and spent about 4 hours looking through all the rebuild projects - surprised me how many older decent escorts there are!

i own a m5 xr3i cabrio. Its standard except some mondeo wheels and some sideskirts of some other car (the previous owner did it). The paint is radiant red and although its the best one i have seen for its age (no rust and still very shiny) i want to repaint so i have bought up a 3hp compressor and spray gun and have been practicing with celly.

Does anyone on here spray with 2k or other paints? I want to spray with something better than celly, so i have been looking at air fed breathing kits, i can get a decent hobby kit from the us for £250 delivered. Does anyone spray in their garages? what kind of results can be got in the garage?

I have also sourced a st170 engine to go in, but thats really as a replacement for the tired zetec in there at the mo. i am more interested in learning to paint to a decent standard.

Any advice or pictures of results from garage spraying? what mask kits do others use if any!?

Thanks, Steven Caine.
