Ive picked up a 2.1 zetec silver top unfinished project to place in my cossy managed 1.8 escort gti. I got the build back to my garage to finish off and when I came to time in the cams I noticed they had been fitted the wrong way round. I had already rotated the engine to see if if was turning smoothly and it seemed fine. I am now wondering if any serious damage may have happened to the valves due to the cams being fitted the wrong way round when the engine was rotated?

Can anybody give me some good news or is this likely to be a head strip down?
