We usually go snorkelling with waterproof throw-away cameras, which are actually quite good, but I am looking at getting a new compact and underwater housing. Only snag is that they are designed to go down to 40m and priced accordingly. That is BIIIIIG overkill for what I will do with it. I wish there was something inbetween. I don't want a waterproof compact, as it will only be used underwater once a year tops and they are ugly camera's.

We've been to the Red Sea 4 times now and never bothered to dive, we could see all we wanted to see in 3-4 metres depth. I can't see the Maldives being any different.

no your right, we never go deep sea diving, our camcorder has a 2 meter depth and was perfect for what we wanted, its a panasonic in bright st orange lol
