Hi all. I got this '00 escort estate 1.8TD and it had a noisy front end. I've had it for a couple of months and the noise has got worse. Seems to be coming from OSF. When there's no load on the steering (level road, going straight) there's no noise. When going round a left bend at speed, there's noise. Going round a right at speed it's herendous, and can even feel it on the pedals. Weaving from side to side makes the noise too - not just cornering as such. When the car is moving slowly there's no noise and the faster it goes the louder it gets. The noise difference between accelerating and decelerating is noticable but minimal. Neutral gear makes no difference.
I ruled out the outer CVJ today by fitting a new one. The noise is no different at all.

Any idea's peeps ?
