The Whiteacres site mentioned at top of the thread is quite an awesome park, went there a few years ago, huge park, lots of lakes, plenty to do. Didnt think much of Newquay when we ventured into it, had more fun just driving off randomly and coming across little beaches and harbours, just exploring. Also went to a site near Lizard Point few years ago, from what I remember was well and truly in the sticks, but private beach, excellent views, but miles from civilisation. I'm hoping to go back down there at some point this year, dont know if anyone else thinks the same, but everything down that way just seems so relaxed, slower pace of life, or maybe it was just cos we had a good, relaxing break.
