Default ? about cooling oil before it enters a turbo using an oil pre rad

is there any reason y you cant put a small oil cooler pre turbo?
so that it cools the oil just before it enters the turbo?
just a small rad.

also would there be any benefit?
i know oil getting too hot can kill turbos, but thats in the extreme cases, so would there be any advantage to running a small cooler? just to kep the turbo temps down.
