the beaches around hayle, st ives are really nice and not over commercialised like newquay. but if you do your own homework (google earth) you can find some really nice beaches that are so remote it takes 20 mins to walk to, and it's just great walking for 20 mins down the cliffs to a sheltered cove a mile wide with nice yellow sand and blue water with seals bobbing up and down. Whats more your the only person there! And even better, i live five mins away from such a place!
