avoid the 3.4 996's as they are the ones that have major engine issues, steve the ones your refering too are the turbos, they are based on the old 964 engine block and not the general 996 engine,,,, the balance shafts have a issue, theres a modded part that sorts this issue but you still have the liner issues aswell as the engine just... well giving up anyway pmsl

nice cars just shame about the 6k engine rebuilds though good thing about porsche cars is that EVERY part is available,,,, and same with gearbox parts and the specialists such as Jazz, and the one that porkie uses near hemel all know there way around cars and not just a buch of school leavers who bought a halfords socket set,,,,, most porsche specialists either sponser a race team or like in the case of Jazz are actually a race team who turned into a garage

3.6 aint a bad car to go for... average running costs tbh but the price of the car reflects that hence the 996 seems a billy bargain,,, but they are all the 3.4,,,, they can be so bad that TVR owners make fun of them pmsl
