you could always get a 2mm thick plate made to sit between the calliper pistons and the pads, that would give the extra 4mm needed. (2mm thick each side)

evo rally engineer sad that is it posible to devide calipers into two parts then skim both parts to several mm and screw them again between each other. so, body of caliper will be thiner after that and good to use with 28mm disk. sorry, may be my english not perfect )))
