Its not a manager thing either, I am part of the managment team. Halfords got an American analyst company in to highlight where the compnay could make more money essentially. It came back with a report which basically said rota changes were the best way of increasing productivity.


As you dont 'sell' as such, only advise - generally if asked as well... I dont understand how a Rota change will provide more sales.

For an operation like Halfords and from a customer perspective I would suggest that having the right number of people on the shop floor and tills at the right time is the way to do it, each store will have peak trading days and times which could easily be analized and then effective working patterns produced on a store by store basis, you'd have to allow the management team access to this - but its how CPW works... and to be fair it aint rocket science.
