My brother has a 700gb external hard drive connected to his PS3 with a lot of movies on it and guess what?you can play all of them.. You just need to rename the folders correct just like you do with the psp otherwise the ps3 wont see them...But yeah if the blue ray movie is huge then i did read about a 4gb file limit...
