The early pumps had problems and if bad the engine will stumble on hard right hand turns and hills when under 1/4 tank. It can just die as well. I'm trying to get info from Ford if they recognize this as a fault and will they replace the fuel pump - if you have any way to check for yourselves - do it - if several cars with the same problem will show up, maybe there's a chance for a free service
