most of my mates are ford boys so I decided to build a mk3 fiesta.
So as the title says Im going to fit a 2l zetec on R1 carbs and need some questions answered.
1) Will any mk3 be ok for the conversion?
2) Silver top or black top zetec?
3) What gearbox and sump are needed?
4) Which engine mounts to use or do they need to be made?
5) What drive shafts fit?
Any other information would be much appreciated
thanks Adam
Any mk3 fiesta will work for this conversion,
Silver top or black to will both fit, silvertop mounts are available from a mk3 zetec so easier than making/modding mounts for the blacktop
Any gearbox will fit, ideally one from a 1.6 cvh or a 1.8 zetec will give best restults and not get blown up Quickly, Depends what engine you go for, if its sivertop you need 1.8 sump and oil pickup pipe and fit that to the 2l, blacktop needs sump modding
Engine mounts depends what model of fiesta you choose, if its a cvh you can mod that mount to use on the zetec block or you need to fabricate brackets in the bay if a lower spec, obviously if its a zetec engine already it will drop straight in
Any fiesta driveshafts will fit but try and get the ones to match what greabox you use, you may need the matching hubs also
If you need anymore info PM me ive done this plenty of times
