I would personally look at a "2 stage boost" easy DIY job you simply have a switch inside the car which completes or breaks the earth supply to the amal valve. So with it connected you run full boost. Opening the switch will allow the maximum boost that your actuator can take before it cracks which IIRC correctly is around 14PSI max for -31.
