Well I'm certainly not 100% sure, thought there were different shades/colours for the rwd and 4x4 i.e magenta on early sapphires then was it was noveau red on later 4x4's, flint grey were 2wd then ebony for 4x4, I do know that proper black (non metallic) sapphires are rare (Lynne may be right saying 12, someone from Norfolk RS group had one), haven't a clue if there were any early sapphs in ebony, surely the plate under the bonnet should tell exact colour, ours does - can't remember all the different colours cossies were available in (is there a list on the net somewhere?!), perhaps we need to do a thread on the main forum find out all the different shades
I am pretty sure that Lynne is correct and only 12 proper black sapphires were made from the factory
