Whats the exciter wire guys?

The guy whos fitted the engine has just told me that the starter is getting a strong live to it but now has said it could be the wiring somewhere from the ignition barrel but idont see how it was all fine when it went in and i know it was broken into and messed up a little but nothing much at all i checked it myself - no wires where stripped or ripped from anything!
