Default DPF problems on Focus

Hello, im new to the site, thought id join as i have a problem with my Diesel Focus.

I have a 2006 55 reg Focus., its the 1.6 tdci and has a DPF. It apparently needs fixed or something like that.
My car currently has over 102,000 miles on the clock has nearly always been used for motorway journeys, not felt any diffrence in power etc. Its been since March last year that the DPF went faulty but due to 3 redundancys i have not been able to get it sorted unfortunitly

My question is, will it pass an MOT if there is something wrong with the DPF? I have read else where that some have passed even tho the DPF has been faulty or been taken out completly.

Cheers
Tracy
