Both axles are referred to as the 'English Axle' so in that respect they are the same.

The Anglia axle casing is 43" and the Escort axle is 48", this measurement is taken from the face at each end of the casing.

The Anglia axle is much stronger than the Escort one due to the shorter length and thickness of the half shafts.

The Anglia is a light car at around 800kg mark and with 350bhp going through it will just spin the wheels rather than snap the axle.

Obviously with abuse damage can be done, but in general they will take a lot of punishment.

My advice to most people is to try it with the standard shafts to start with, if they fail, then upgrade to the Quaife shafts.
