cant be sure on the rods or pistons but i have read somewhere they are quite strong,not sure on the make up of them though.
High compression, cast-aluminium pistons and forged steel connecting rods.
The rods are VERY strong
its the pistons and the compression ratio i would worry about if your going on the supercharger route.
p.s the ST170 is a quicker car on track then straight road (thats why it loses to alot of cars on the road, except underpowered Nova's
)
p.p.s the RS Turbo IS the faster car on the road no doubt, BUT I think it wouldnt keep up with a ST170 round a track
