Having seen the standard of some of the other series 2's on here I really thought it was about time I got to work on mine. At the moment i'm concentrating on the engine bay and front wheel arches. I'll do underneath at a later date.
This is how the engine bay looked before I sarted work on it. It was quite clean but there are a few areas of rot/rust that need sorting, the usual thing, battery tray, top of the front cross member etc.
Start of the stripdown.
Header tank, heater box and water pipes removed.
Radiator, intercooler, turbo, lights removed etc..
Off side wheel arch
This is what it looked like before doing anything to it, coverd in waxoil (seemed like a good idea at the time) and 15 years worth of dirt.
This is how it looks now. With all the dirt and wax removed and in primer.
Near side wheel arch
Here's the other side, once again covered thick in waxoil
And here it is with all the wax and rubbish removed.

Can't wait to underneath....not
And this is what it looks like now in primer, although there's some rot to sort out above the gearbox end plate.
This is how the car looks at the moment. Hopefully it should be going into the bodyshop next week to have the few area's of rot sorted out and the engine bay and front panel resprayed.
So my next task is to start cleaning all the bits which I have removed. I was aiming to have it all back together by mid to late april but i'm starting to doubt it.
