I thought you Northeners had soft water up there!

As Duncoss said a decent water softener and salts will deal with your hard water probs, but you'll need one tap thats on hard water for drinking purposes, (you cant drink soft water) and a little bit of plumbing is needed to alter the pipes to accomodate the softner.
