He doesn't get a game for Brazil. He played a few games in the Olympics, that doesn't really count. He'll be nowhere near the 1st team in the world cup, will be a squad player.

The thing is, he isn't all that bad and all the liverpool fans who know nothing about football slag him off. On the whole, he's a solid defensive midfielder. He does nothing spectacular going forward and can't pass the ball the way Alonso did but thats not what he's picked for.

There are far worse players in the club. What about Insua, a left back that gets skinned by anyone and everyone he plays against, absolute shite. Or Kuyt, a striker with so little conviction infront of goal he's been put out on the wing where all he offers is work rate. Not able to beat a man, no pace, no crossing ability.

The thing is, Rafa likes players like Kuyt and Lucas who are grafters, he's a negative manager who favours players who don't take too many risks. He plays with 2 holding midfielders because he thinks Gerrard can be a liability in the middle of the park.
