With modern fuel injection and turbos etc, it would be very easy to build one to make some power.
Cant really see why there would be any big problems. The bottom end is pretty mcuh same as a Cossie for a start, and the head aint that bad.
exactly what I had, mine was using renault solex turbo carb.
I guy I know (who built mine) was building them 10+ years ago and his was running some serious boost in his capri, very rapid car. He built a fair few pinto turbos, mine was a pretty decent spec (good pistons etc) but before I could get a bigger turbo on mine I lost the bugger on an icy bend and totalled it, was a really nice car.. 3 door moonstone cossie rep.. all bits, even roof put on for sunroof, headlining, dash, carpets, rs500 bumper, splitter, foglight mesh rs500 rear spoilers etc.
