Hi new to the ford scene, this sites quality.

just bought a mk4 escort cabrio its got an efi engine and its not the quickest of cars dunno if its cause of some cheap air cone thats on it, i am looking for the original air box to replace it also think im missing something, to the left of the rocker cover on my mates is what looks like the top of an oil fiter with 2 or 3 pipes coming out. i'm missing that looks like its been by passed with a 2 joint peice. sorry about my describing of parts any one know what i mean?
