I have just recently been involved with Subaru bottom ends and I can guarantee u that what "Vroomptschoooouuu!" says is true. We had one fail, we had the bottom end rebuilt by what most would see as a good engineering company. We ran the car in PERFECTLY and then ran it up once on the rollers and it failed. I was standing there at the time and it was NOT getting a hard time and was seeing NOTHING LIKE the abuse I give every car I have ever owned once they are warmed up. It failed instantly and needed another total bottm end re-build.

So far it is going well so I hope it is one of the 19 out of 20 "say" that don't fail rather than the 1 out of 20 that does!!

Damn things.

P1's rock tho chaps. A good going remap and an exhaust and they are seriously quick. They handle much better than the other understeery scoobys too, so I personally WOULD pay the extra for a P1. Of course getting ready to have the engine re-built with a NEW crank like the chap on the thread said/did earlier.

Cheers,
RW
