Thats the issue really, if you added up all the parts your into a LOT of money and thats before you include any labour or r&d.
Its quite a fresh car although you are talking Escort wrc money at 60k iirc but then that wont come with a 708hp engine or go round a race track anywhere near as fast as those pair of cars do.
TBH though, an RS200 or WRC Escos for the same money would be a better investment long term I suspect, cant see the focus's holding their value longer term as they are ultimately just built by a bloke in a shed (thats not an insult to andy, in fact given how well they go its more of a compliment)
They just have no heritage, and thats what a car needs to hold its value once the novelty wears off.
But like you said, if someone wants a car to use, rather than as an investment, there isnt any other ford for the same money thats going to compete on track!
