Even if not needing to use a lambda sensor, always make provision for it so one can be used when mapping.
I would go for a aftermarket ecu if I was doing a track car, but would obviously add to cost, it might help asking stu/msd about running a diff ecu, but it will still need a suitable map/mapping.
