a little early new years resolution but is it a hard instrument to learn? i've been playing the guitar for 14 years on and off, can strum a list of songs as long as your arm but never really went any further with it. I've always loved the sound of the irish fiddle, played properly but is it a difficult instrument to learn? and would i have to learn loads of classical starter stuff before i went onto the irish stuff?

thinking out loud but sod it, i'd love to be able to play one properly. Every douche can play a guitar now
