the other month i managed to pick up a 24v with all its ancilaries for £100 so me and a m8 went into the workshop this evning to strip it down knowing that it was probably shagged but in the hope there would be some salvegable components i could use as spares should my engine go wrong.
heres how it looked when i bought it minus a plenum and the box of ancileries.
after taking the plenum, throttle body and bend off we took the injectors and fuel rail out and took the rocker covers off.
as expected its sludge'd up to f**k and the injectors are mucky but it all seem's cleanable and servicable. the cam lobes dont look warn.
then took manifolds off and there perfect so they are going in the spares bucket.
took the water pump off and it looked like that this but not end of world
i suspect the block will need alot of restoration if it is to get used again.
then took the thermostat housing etc off and all looks servicable
it also had a 12v fly wheel and this neat adaptor so that a type 9 box can be bolted to the back of it. although i dont think a type 9 would last long.
the engine all seems very good for £100 but we thought, it must be seazed so we thought we would check
and to our amazment it wasnt.
other than a few bolts here and there thats as far as we got but we only had an hour and it was very very cold.
ended up getting distracted by these

im going to strip the engine down to the bare crank. if anyone wants any of the bits off it providing its servicable Pm me and il get back to u.
