Did you set the cd drive to one and save it Doug?
That should boot straight from the disk, you dont have two drives and putting it in the wrong one or anything?
There is a "reset to last know good configuration" option in the BIOS but its not the ROM thats the problem, the dodgy file is in windows so whenever the system tries to load windows it will always crash because it needs that dll file.
Just incase, try doing it without BIOS, one of the function keys (F2 etc) will bring the boot priority up on its own, might have to change it from there. I dont know which key it will be on your pc though mate.
Thats the only way I know to fix the problem your having mate, I'm clutching at straws after this.
Like I said earlier, might be back to the seller or manufacturer for you mate
