Don't know the history of the 4.6L in Ausie, but it's probably the same unit.

Drove a 4.6L Mustang Cobra a few months back when I was at work in LA, and absolutely loved the engine. Shame about the rest of the car though. Wallows everywhere and full of plastic. Even more plastic than a cossie
