the car is a good un, apart from it losing a fair few miles between mot's

it failed one at 112k and then passe done 2 weeks later with 76k

but seeing as it was a grand cheaper than the next best thing i'd seen, AND he knocked off £200 without even batting an eye lid, the money i've saved has more than covered the cost of th ebits that were broken

new timing belt and a general service came to £200 quid that i'd orignially saved, plus another £400 odd for the box and clutch and stuff on top of the £1100 i paid for it means that the car's ok and i haven't really smashed the £1500 budget when you think about it ebacuse it's bought peice of mind with everything being done

yes it's had a few knocks and stuff, but for a 112k car it's about as honest as you could expect, it drives nice, got 4 new tyres and other than the rear wiper not working it (was) mechanically sound as the proverbial pound

i've blamed the mrs but who knew the box wouldn't have any oil in it? not that i'm admiting to shafting the box.........
