i also know how bad it is to have a cable poorly fitted into a bracket that isnt up to the job (ive had two types that actually fouled the linkage!), and makes the cable foul the front cross member,

i had no issues at all with my set up, it also removes the cable from the turbo area, so it doesnt melt

i dont see that removing a bent, worn, seized, rusty linkage is a bad thing in the grand scale of things
