When roosie got 200 block studded and we fitted the 2wd head we could not find a socket that fitted the nuts that would actually go in the hole, so I ended up machining the socket down, assume this was an early head but didn't measure.

doesnt matter what head you use with a long stud kit,you would have to make a socket fit..the early 3 door heads only had a 2 bolt thermostate housing instead of 3 bolt..early 2wd heads had a dowel on the inlet ports where the inlet plenum bolts up..everyone thinks thats just rs500 heads but its not..also some 1988 saphs have some early 3 door engines..cheers danny
