Put it this way, the new car I have just bought was missing its locking wheel nut key. Took it to ford down the road, they said there was no way of getting the locking nuts off, they would need to be ground off/beaten off with a hammer, took it to another ford dealer a few miles away and they had a ford master key that dealers have to remove all ford locking nuts. 10 minutes later and it had a nice shiny new set fitted!

So I think that the level of technical expertise that you car is cherished with can vary massively at different dealers!
