It was a special production car in 1992/93 along with the radient red 4wd's, but all were metallic. I own one and its defo metallic. If yours is not metallic, forward me the VIN and my old man can find out what the actual colour is... Just had a quick thought, if you go for touch up paint at halfords or somewhere like that, they will use the colour number stamped on the VIN, halfords dont call it ebony, they give it there own name, ebony paint is not available and needs to be mixed on site!
I have a 1992 Ford Sierra Cosworth 4x4 Final Edition (Italy), but it was produced in Oct./Nov. 1991. This does not match the years you mention? Are your sure there were only 40 ebony 92/93 motors or are you only ref. to RHD? Mine is a LHD.
Btw. I have a touch up paint from Ford - it says EBONY on the stamp.
