I did a bit of reading about these cars and the ST200 will have the metal water pump, it was only the early ST24 MK2 that had the plastic type.

The headgasket has a design flaw which can cause the tick tick when you blip the throttle, it wont cause the typical water mixing/mayo problems and the car can be driven without a problem.
