One thing to be aware of, if you intend to remove it, it has to be 100% removed as any trace of the abs having been there to start with will cause a mot fail for non functioning, but if there is no evidence it has been fitted to start with they can't fail it.
I had this very conversation recently with mot man, that was his opinion.
