I would imagine that the reason the E36 boys have the hump is because it is widely known that they very rarely make their quoted power, so it looks like you have an exceptionally good one .

The best filters are proported to release 7-15bhp on these cars (the carbon Gruppe M ones), so with this and a remap, you have the top end of a "good" car, hence why they are so upset, as a normally (because they are so down on the claimed factory output in the first place) a remap and filter tends to give the car what it SHOULD have had from the factory .
