is it only there to prevent a slide? i have only ever had it kick in on my old zetec-s and that was in the rain on an emergency stop! didnt like the fact it made the car stop over a longer distance than i wanted it too, and took over my driving i tend to pump the brakes well driving anyway when braking from high speeds
