I was certainly surprised by the economy in mine, spec was pretty basic stuff too Full History, always run on V-Power Fuel, 76k miles, CAT-Back Mongoose and a K&N Panel Filter in standard airbox with cold air feed. I never really gave my car a hard time, most I ever wanted from it was the induction note at 2500-3000rpm and then after that I changed up.
Most of the journeys in mine were into and out of the town with the longest trip being to the gym and thats mainly through the town as well with a brief cruise at 50mph.. I re-set the computer and got the 28.5 average with that sort of usage.
I'm considering another one if/when the Civic goes as I actually miss my old car, it ticks so many boxes for relatively little cash its hard to ignore IMO.
Cheers,
