Well it didn't go quite as I'd expected.

I managed to get this photo of the undercover MK2 and XR3



Then realised a rather big, pissed off bloke was watching me through his window.

So I shouted can I have a word mate. I noticed while waiting for the door to open the XR3 is a little rough. Arches loook good, but bonnets got half its paint missing, and I'm 99% sure the covered car is a MK2. It's on clover leaf wheels as well and got the little sharp spoiler. He came down and said what do you want. I said I live up the road and pass these cars everyday. I was wodering if you'd be interested in selling any as I'd like a new project. He said it depends how much money were talking. I said I realise these cars are worth more than scrap value I'm not trying to con you. I'm not interested in the MK4, but I've always fancied a MK3 XR3 and if thats a MK2 Escort under that cover I'd be interested in that as well. As I said "a MK2 Escort" he looked quite angry again and said I think you'd better go and just leave it.

Seemed quite weird. The Transit has a wheel clamp on its front wheel and the garage, MK2 ,Mk3 and Trasit are all bumper to bumper, so he obviously doesn't want them stolen, and must know what they are worth. Just seems weird how the MK2 Escort is the only one covered up.

But he doesn't seem to want to sell them. Might drop a note through his door and ask him to ring me if he reconsiders.
